2025-2026 Current Illness Policy
Current 2025-2026 Family Opera Illness/COVID Policy
The following is Family Opera's current policy regarding illness and attendance at rehearsals and performances.
If you need more details on anything, or if anything is still unclear, please email notes26@familyopera.org.
- We urge everyone to be "up to date" with all vaccines and boosters, including COVID, the seasonal flu shot, and any other vaccines recommended for your age and health conditions by your doctor.
- If you have symptoms of disease, please do a COVID test:
- If the test is positive, please stay home.
- If the test is negative but you don't feel well enough to rehearse, please stay home.
- If the test is negative and you feel okay to rehearse (e.g., you're having allergy symptoms), please wear a mask and come to rehearsal.
- If you feel fine but have had exposure to disease within 5 days, please do a COVID test, come if it's negative, and consider wearing a mask.
- You may wear a mask at any rehearsal or performance if that makes you comfortable.
- Depending on disease prevalence at the time, we might require testing before Dress Rehearsals and Performances.
A couple of notes:
- For people unable to be at any rehearsal, we will try to make Zoom available.
- Please let us know if you have had a positive COVID test, or will need to miss any part of any rehearsal, by emailing wp-2026-conflict@familyopera.org.
- We may need to update this policy if public health conditions improve or deteriorate.
Thanks, everybody, for helping us have a healthy, successful season!
